Some ideas if you bring your laptop to the lectures

A former student, Ismael, mentioned that some students found interesting to use software for adding comments on PDF slide files. Apparently PDF-Xchange Viewer (for Windows) and Skim (for OS X) can do the job (for free).

Of course this may only be interesting for those of you that are bringing a laptop to the class. But, time-proven technology, like paper and pen, can be very useful tool too.

I've been using the build in annotation tools of the Mac OS X pdf viewer and they work great as well. You can highlight parts of text and add comments/notes (under tools>mark up and tools>annotate)

Thanks Andrew, I did not know that. Sounds even simpler than what I suggested (nothing else needs to be installed).

Yes, Andrew you're right, I did it the last course, but nothing compares to work with pen and paper, this mode is more easy and faster than type on a keyboard... and you don't need save your work :p

Hi there,

If you are using a tablet PC, 'Pdf annotator' is so convenient. You can write with the pen directly on your pdf files, highlight, etc.

I have been using for a long time this software and, in my opinion, it's quite good.

BTW, PDF-Xchange works great in Linux (under wine). pdfedit is a native Linux alternative, but not so good.
